Marigold was made in honor of Marsha P. Johnson. Marsha was an early activist for the queer liberation movement, she is often credited as throwing the first brick at the Stonewall riots, she helped found STAR, and later went on to engage in AIDS related activism. Marsha was known for her signature flower crown, made from discarded flowers in the Manhattan Flower District. Marigolds are often used to honor those who have passed away. Marigold is a burnt orange jelly base with red shimmer and an orange to gold magnetic pigment.

      Lovely colour, not a lot of contrast

      I think I was expecting a little more contrast between the base and the magnetic pigment in this one. In trying to take pictures of my swatch sticks, I discovered why - the camera LOVES this polish. I could not get my phone to take a normal-looking picture of it; instead, it looked like a glowing fire on the screen. I adjusted the heck out of my photo and it still doesn't look like what my eyes see. This polish has a red-copper base and a medium orange magnetic. The camera makes the magnetic look gold, but it is not, except at an extreme angle. It's still very nice! Just not quite as dramatic as expected.
