Glitch Lacquer: US small-batch indie polish

Glitch Lacquer is hand-mixed in the US by Bree, a small-batch maker who started Glitch by trying to "fix" a polish she didn't love and ended up building one of the most distinctive indie nail polish brands working today. Every shade is 10-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and air-dry, so no UV or LED lamp is needed. Bree is also openly values-driven: Glitch stands for equality, self-determination, and against bigotry, and several collections fund causes she believes in.

The Glitch signature

Three things make Glitch genuinely different from other US indies. The magnetic pigments are unusually strong, pulling sharp cat-eye lines with a basic magnet in seconds. The jelly bases are translucent enough that reflective and multichrome particles glow from inside the polish, not just on the surface. And almost every shade is designed to layer, meaning a single bottle can read completely differently worn alone versus over a creme.

Where to start

The Aphrodite's Kiss Valentine's Collection is the friendliest entry point: nine layering shades in pinks, purples, and ocean blues. The Palestine Collection is the cause-tied release, with proceeds funding the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.

Other indie brands worth a look

If Glitch resonates, take a look at Starrily, another US indie known for sparkle-forward formulas, or browse the broader indie nail polish catalog at NailStuff for more small-batch makers.
